when we can stop and take a break from our busy lives, returning to mindfulness in this way supports our practice throughout the week.
We begin meditating promptly at 5:30, and ask that you please arrive between 5:15 and 5:25. First time visitors can reference the Newcomers Guide pdf on this page for an orientation to our practice. Our weekly practice is generally as follows: Guided meditation (5-10 minutes), walking meditation (10 minutes) , sitting meditation (20 minutes), Dharma presentation (10 minutes), Dharma discussion (20 minutes), Closing (10 minutes).
After the dharma presentation we generally have tea available during Dharma discussion and announcements. Please help yourself, relax and enjoy. The first Monday of every month we recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings, and the last Monday, we have a formal tea and sharing.
To respect everyone's time and other commitments, we close by 7:00 PM.
Please wear comfortable clothing. Chairs are provided, but if you prefer to sit on a cushion and mat, please bring your own.
