Thich Nhat Hanh, our teacher (Thay), has recommended that all lay friends who have taken the Five Mindfulness Trainings gather at least once a month to recite these Trainings. Of course all others are welcome to attend since this is not an exclusive group and a monthly part of our practice and support each other along the way. The Mindfulness Trainings are the core of the practice for the lay community. The Trainings are our commitment to our teacher and the practice. Without this continuity of practice, we lose our connection with the teacher and the teachings. Join us on Monday at 5:30 PM in our practice space at Mystic Mountain, 435 NW Fourth Street (the Meditation Room in the rear).
We will study together with openness, lightness of heart, and sharing of experience with the practice. Thich Nhat Hanh says, "Forming a Sangha is not difficult if we have support of friends on the path." Thay suggests that the next Buddha may be a Sangha. May we cultivate mindfulness so that we can water positive seeds in ourselves and others while looking deeply at Sangha. Facilitated by Ken
