Tomorrow at 5:30 our practice will begin and we are honored by the presence of Dharmarcharya Jerry Braza. He will be offering a dharma talk on the essence of the spiritual path: Spiritual Friends
First, you look to yourself and take refuge in the love that resides within. We often are looking for others to complete us and if we look deeply we can see that we are already whole. Learning to love our self and nurture the seeds of love within offers the best opportunity to choose a best friend or teacher.
“Kalyna Mitra” is a Sanskrit word for soul friend or spiritual friendship. We all need individuals who guide us and mentor us along the way. These friends are found in practice communities, churches and temples, as well as in our own personal lives. Look for groups or individuals who accept you for who you are and who are willing to gently remind you of your gifts and support you as you. Seek individuals and teachers that have an investment in helping you grow spiritually by cultivating and nurturing the positive seeds in you.
Please arrive early so we may begin promptly at 5:30.
