Nurturing ourselves: the Four Nutrients Mon 5:30 Mystic Mountain

posted Jan 14, 2012, 10:46 AM by Five Stones
Dear Friends,

Paul will continue our very important discussion concerning the four Noble Truths by introducing the Four Nutrients--edible food, sense impressions, volition (intention, will), and the fourth kind of nutrient, consciousness.  We have to be very careful which nutrients we ingest.  Some will lead to happiness, some to suffering and unhappiness.  A Dharma Discussion will explore how we recognize the true nature of what we consume, what to avoid to prevent more suffering, and what to consume to water the positive seeds within us that will always lead to happiness and reduce suffering.

As Paul noticed, and the weather man confirms, we may have snow and driving hazards this coming Monday.  Monday, about noon, we'll make an email announcement IF we have to cancel.  In the future this holds true as well, you will be sent an email if the weather conditions are creating a driving danger.
Please email or text me Monday morning if you are having nasty weather at your house.  (Sangha eyes see so much clearer than just my eyes in Lewisburg.)

Reminder:  our Morning Mindfulness practice is next Saturday, the 21st, a week from today from 10:00AM until 1:00PM at Pamela's house, 2782 NW Rolling Green Drive, everyone is invited.  Details are attached.....  Please RSVP peacefulstep@#gmail.

"Peace is all around us-
In the world and in nature-
and within us-
in our bodies, and our spirits.

Once we learn to touch this peace,
We will be healed and transformed.
It is not a matter of faith;
It is a matter of practice.
Thich Nhat Hanh
