We have so much to be thankful for, we are alive, we love and our loved, we are part of a group of spiritual friends, Anam Cara in the Celtic tradition, and we have a spiritual path to guide us. We are blessed and very fortunate. We have the chance to be happy, why wait?
As Thay has said, "Many people in our society are not happy, even though the conditions for their happiness already exist. Their habit energy is always pushing them ahead, preventing them from being happy in the here and the now. But with a little bit of training, we can all learn to recognize this energy every time it comes up. Why wait to be happy?"
Bob will lead, we'll all benefit by looking at the Mindfulness Trainings together. We have the opportunity to remind ourselves of the five areas that lead to happiness and gratitude. Tomorrow we will be able to enjoy the Five Mindfulness Trainings again as we share them as a group of Anam Cara. I am reminded of the words of John O'Donohue, in Anam Cara: a Book of Celtic Wisdom. As a group of friends, we see this happen every week. "When love awakens in your life, in the night of your heart, it is like the dawn breaking within you. Where before there was anonymity, now there is courage; where before in your life there was awkwardness, now there is a rhythm of grace and gracefulness; where before you used to be jagged, now you are elegant and in rhythm with your self. When love awakens in your life, it is like a rebirth, a new beginning."
