Please come together tonight at 5:30 for our weekly mindfulness practice session. Paul will be presenting a dharma talk this evening concerning hunger and consumption. The Dharma talk will focus on the types of hunger that drive us to eat, including stomach hunger, mind hunger, eye hunger and heart hunger. We will also practice eating a small snack mindfully, noting the different hungers as they arise in us.
"There are four kinds of nutriments that can lead to our happiness or our suffering. The first nutriment is edible food. What we eat or drink can bring about mental or physical suffering. We must be able to distinguish between what is healthful and what is harmful. We need to practice Right View when we shop, cook, and eat." Thich Nhat Hanh, The Heart of the Buddhas Teachings
