Jesus and Buddha as Brothers

posted Feb 18, 2012, 8:33 AM by Five Stones
Dear Friends,
Please meet to practice our meditations:  stopping, and calming,  a breathe of fresh air at the start of the work week.    We meet in the meditation room behind Mystic Mountain. Please arrive by 5:25 so we can be settled and begin at 5:30 PM, ending at 7:00.
Many of us come from Judeo-Christian roots, these are the seeds we can water.  If we look deeply at any of our religious foundations, we find the equivalent of the three jewels, finding and taking refuge.  Refuge in the Buddha (in me). refuge in the Dharma (the path of transformation leading to the end of suffering), and the Sangha, the community that dwells in mindfulness, harmony, and peace.  In Christianity refuge is found in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.  Other traditions similarly have these three refuges if you look deeply.  During Dharma Discussion we'll look for these roots, while we look deeply into ourselves.  Hope to see you Monday.
With a bow and a smile,
Ken
