FLOWER ARRANGING FOR THE HOME ALTAR Sunday, September 19 2-4 pm
This class will enable you to make a simple, tasteful, arrangement using Moribana principles of Ikebana. This is a very satisfying pursuit, once confined to male priests.
We will make arrangements as if for an altar the size of a carry-on suitcase, so we are all working on the same scale.
You’ll need to bring: -a shallow container or even an empty tuna fish can -a kenzan, or pin frog, that will fit inside the shallow container. (You can buy inexpensive one at Craft World). -a cylindrical vase, preferably opaque, about 5-8 inches tall -clippers -FLOWERS OR STEMS that you want to use. We use 3 stems (or more) for each of the two arrangements. I no longer have a garden, so bring your flowers/stems in water. Sometimes we share plant material. -a box with crumpled newspaper so that you can safely transport your creations home
Please let me know if you are coming, so I can send you my address. CHOKEI LITMAN crowflower@hotmail.com |
