Please meet by 5:25 in the Meditation Room attached to Mystic Mountain, 435 NW Fourth Street, Corvallis, Or. Enjoy the singing before practice begins, you are encouraged to lead or suggest a song from our song-sheet, bring an instrument, especially your full presence and joy.
We practice together to renew ourselves, deepen our spiritual friendships, water our seeds of Mindfulness, and support each other. Happiness for ourselves and others is always the result of waking to the present moment. This occurs naturally in the presence of a sangha, the most miraculous invention of the Buddha. All spiritual paths, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc. are nourished in our practice of inclusiveness and non-discrimination. We will practice as a sangha, Guided, Walking or Moving, and Sitting Meditations.
Leslie will be the Bell Minder and will lead a Dharma Discussion on the basics of mindfulness/concentration/and insight: the three pillars of zen. Bring your curiosity and "Beginners' Mind" as we explore the roots of Mindfulness in Thay's tradition.
We will end promptly at 7:00 PM, so the room can be quickly cleaned and returned to it's "original nature".
Thay says “we need only a flash of awakening to realize that what we are looking for is already here – the kingdom of God. No birth and no death.”
